One of California's most beloved
landmarks is alledgedly about to have a facelift of epic proportions.
For the past twenty years, a small interest group has been fighting
to make change in the city of San Fransisco. But many say this time
they have gone too far. A few rogue newspapers out of the bay
claim that this group has finally won the fight and in 2010, the Golden
Gate Bridge will be painted green.
Quotes the Friscian Press of one
Malcom Trout, "We've have been fighting for this one for years
and now we can finally celebrate. This is a big step in bringing awareness
to our cause."
Coverups.com did some digging. The group's pamphlet that is handed out every Wednesday
all of the city states that their cause is apparently to strengthen
environmental regulations on corporations as well as force the public
to become more environmentally aware. Hence the color choice of green.
Other things they have faught for or fighting for the past two decades
are the down-sizing of trash cans to force people to recycle, mandatory
weekly beach clean up's in schools, and the banning of; six-packs of
soda, styrofoam, Hummers, minivans, SUVS, cell phones, spray paint,
smoking, coal, and the list goes on and on.

Previous attemps to change the color failed partly in the specific
color, not because of the presevation of history. City council members would refuse to put
it on any ballot because they did not like a prior choice of white because "it
would not stand out from the fog." |
A skeptic would wonder how a small
faction could get something so absurd past most of public who would
shut it down. After many hours of digging, CoverUps.com found that is was hidden amongst another proposition that was on the
November 7th ballot. When many voters found out what they had passed,
many were infuriated and took to the streets.
"I cannot believe these commie
wackos!" said one Chris Abrams. "I thought I was voting for
a simple tax increase!"
The sad truth is that he was, to
help pay for painting of the bridge.
