A Recent Survey by Flirting.com has revealed a surprising success rate in picking up woman by referring to one’s arms as “the guns.”

ACROSS THE U.S.A. — In a rather unexpected development on the American dating scene, CoverUps.com has learned via survey that women, despite all the sophistication of well-deserved roles as business leaders and in all areas of life, are still easy targets for a nice set of toned “guns,” otherwise known as a set of muscular male arms.

The "gun show” pick-up line boasts a surprising claim to one of the most successful cheesy pick up lines currently floating around the American singles scene.

Brad Dorfman, 22, biology major at Syracuse University in New York, convinces two sorority gals into a stripping nearly naked in bacchanalian tribute to his fully displayed guns. That the girls are also curious about each other only ads to the adventure.

A smarmy male may ask a would be female partner if they would “like to see a gun show.”

Much to the prospective female’s surprise, said male will raise his arms high over his shoulders, displaying his “guns” proudly for all to cower and behold in awe. The survey, conducted by Flirting.com earlier this year, does reveal that it usually helps if said guns are well toned, but not always.

Already, Jason is the most popular boy in the sixth grade at Beacon Heights Elementary School.

Some credit the rise in the phrase's popularity to a scene in the movie "Anchorman," staring Will Farrell. It is the scene where Will Farrell is pumping iron and referring to his arms as “guns.” It must be noted he is admonished by Christina Applegate’s character for doing so, but it is clearly charming.

In the end, it may just be a matter of nerve.

“It is the charm of having the confidence to use such a cheesy pick up line,” said Susan McMurray, 27, an accountant in Columbus, OH, who claims her boyfriend of two years has a great set of guns.

“They may not be the biggest set of guns in the world, but they sure feel nice when he wraps them around me,” she said.
