Islamists Dream of Mass Murder by Poisoning

August 2008

A posting on an islamist internet forum is just another example of the extreme and pathological hatred our enemies have for us

From the indispensible Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) comes another terrifying glimpse into the murderous amorality of the Islamist mind. After you read the following excerpt, CoverUps has a question for you.

On August 9, 2008 a member of the Islamist forum Al-Boraq proposed poisoning the water systems of major European cities. The forum member began his message by reminding "monotheists [i.e. Muslims] who yearn to support the Prophet" that Ramadan is coming, and explained that poisoning the water systems of major European cities is just one of many options – some of them "more powerful and more damaging" – but that his posting is meant to "prompt the mind [to generate] innovative [ideas]."

Okay. Here's the question. Actually it's a series of questions.

Can this kind of malignant hatred be appeased? What exactly – or even generally – can the west do to assuage or nullify this kind of malice?

Is this the voice of evil? If not, what does the voice of evil sound like? How do evil people express themselves to their would-be victims?

Our Take

If we give the author of this forum posting more kindness, more understanding, more empathy, more welfare benefits, more mosques in which to worship and pray, more freedom, more cultural deference – in short, more of everything we in the west value – will this person put aside forever all thoughts of committing mass murder against us?

Liberals – discuss.
