An Oops Moment for CAIR
What? CAIR – itself a terrorist-organized and terrorist-supported organization that claims it rejects terrorism – support the terrorist organization Hamas? No way, says an article on the FredomZone.com with mock surprise. Read on:
- On Saturday, March 1, 2008, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) expressed its support for Hamas and denied that Hamas was a terrorist organization.
- The statements were made during an anti-CAIR rally held by Americans Against Hate (AAH). The group was protesting CAIR’s use of the Broward County Convention Center, a government-owned facility.
- Whilst speaking into a microphone bearing CAIR's name and logo, CAIR-Florida representative Jawhar "Joe" Badran stated clearly, on video, "Hamas is not a terrorist organization."
- At the time, Badran was standing next to the Executive Director of CAIR-Florida Altaf Ali.
- Other statements made by Badran at the rally, include: "Hamas is a defender of the Palestinian people.” and "Hamas is better than Fatah, because there's no corruption. Hamas takes care of the people."
- Badran’s statements were made less than a week prior to a terror attack on a Jerusalem school perpetrated by Hamas. The attack left eight Israeli students dead.
- The press release issued by Hamas's military wing, the Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades, claiming responsibility for the attack, can be seen here.
- As an ideology, Islam promises an economic, political, social, and religious utopia when the world finally submits to Allah and the rule of Shari'a law. The Islamic objective is to have all aspects of a nation's culture and institutions undergo gradual Islamization to yield an Islamic state patterned after Shari'a Law. Our Take
Islam can be called many things, but ‘tolerant’ isn’t one of them. You can call Hamas whatever you want, and define it however you do – but actions speak louder than words and the actions of Hamas are those of terrorist organizations. Call it what you want CAIR while we call it like it is.
