The U.S. sends over a missile defense system to Japan as part of an international defense shield against the despotic regime in North Korea, which has been awfully quiet as of late. It is long overdue, we say. A summary from a recent FoxNews story follows ...
- The Joint Tactical Ground Station, a mobile station that can detect and analyze satellite data on ballistic missile launches, arrived at Misawa Air Force Base in Aomori prefecture (state), according to an anonymous Defense Ministry source.
- Another ministry official, also talking on background, refused to say when the tracking system would come into operation.
- Tokyo and Washington have been jointly developing an advanced missile defense system and have stepped up joint missile defense programs since North Korea's missile launches and nuclear test last year.

This is good news on the “Axis of Evil” front. Yes, the regime in North Korea has been quiet. But it surely remains intent on taking full advantage of Western freebies to buttress Kim Jong Ill's lavish lifestyle, while his impoverished citizens live in fear and perpetual near-starvation. For our purposes, a missile defense shield is a shield against despotism and we welcome its deployment to our friends in the Pacific.
