Sen. Obama Courts Latinos with Driver’s Licenses

RightMarch.com offers more evidence that presidential candidate Barack Obama is even worse on immigration than his Democrat party colleagues are.
Even Senator Hillary Clinton has shown herself amenable to the political facts on the ground – like when she backtracked on the issue of drivers licenses for illegal aliens in New York after Governor Elliott Spitzer backed off in the face of voter outcry on this hot button issue.
But Barack Obama holds such a strong (and left-wing) opinion on the issue that even massive voter outrage is not enough to compel him to change course.
Obama's commitment to empowering illegals by giving them access to such an important identity document as a state driver's license has impressed pro-illegal alien activists:
Just recently, John Trasvina, president of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF, a pro-illegals group) said, "Clinton and (Sen. John) Edwards have said no driver's licenses for unauthorized immigrants. Sen. Obama has said you get a driver's license if you know how to drive. And that message I think will resonate in the Latino community."
Our Take
As time goes on, Barack Obama is emerging as even more radical on illegal immigration than his own party – and that's no small accomplishment.
John McCain at least shows signs of comprehending the passion and intensity of the voting public, and is saying the right things on it – though we will have to keep a sharp eye on him should he win in November.
Obama is a whole different case. You have to wonder if the voices of voters – American citizens! – stand any chance at all of penetrating that thick socialist skull of his.
