The surge has worked:
US Military Kicks Al-Qaeda Out of Baghdad

November 2007 surge working

New York Times downplays a major event

To say that defeating Al Qaeda as they have been operating in Iraq is a back story, not worthy of the front page but rather A-19, is an affront to every American serving in the military today. We have come to know thy enemy, ever since 9-11 and we know it goes by the name of Al Qaeda. Kicking them out of Iraq, so they no longer maintain a sphere of influence in this critical part of the world, is big indeed. Burying the story on the back pages of the New York Times is shameful. Below are highlights from a recent Rush Limbaugh radio show, who will not let the story go unnoticed.

  • "American forces have routed Al-Qaeda in Mesopotamia, the Iraqi militant network, from every neighborhood of Baghdad, a top American general said today, allowing American troops involved in the 'surge' to depart as planned.
  • Violence had declined since a spike in June. 'The Iraqi people have just decided that they've had it up to here with violence.'
  • The group is Al-Qaeda!  And the US military has routed them from Baghdad.
  • This story from the UK Times online: "'First Sunni-Shia 'Fatwa Against Violence' to Be Signed in Iraq.'
  • “Officials cite return of Iraqis to Baghdad as violence declines."
  • Forty-six thousand returned to Baghdad last month.  Forty-six thousand and thirty of them, actually, returned last month from outside the country to their homes in the capital.

Our Take

Way to go Rush! This is truly Good News We Don’t Always Get. The outstanding news here is only matched by the outstanding voice of Rush Limbaugh who will steadfastly champion our men and women in uniform versus seeing them buried in both the back pages of the New York Times and desserts of Iraq. Without his voice, our soldiers would have few as loud and righteous.
