Our efforts at scouting out target locations in Iran are well publicized. Now, the major media outlets are reporting that there are fears that the Iranians are returning the favor and scouting out terrorist targets inside New York City, such as Wall Street, subways and probably tourist attractions. Increasing tensions between Washington and Tehran have revived New York Police Department concerns that Iranian agents may already have targeted the city for terror attacks.
Such attacks could be aimed at bridges and tunnels, Jewish organizations and Wall Street, NYPD.
NYPD officials have worried about possible Iranian-sponsored attacks since a series of incidents involving officials of the Iranian Mission to the United Nations.
In November 2003, Ahmad Safari and Alireaza Safi, described as Iranian Mission "security" personnel, were detained by transit cops when they were seen videotaping subway tracks from Queens to Manhattan at 1:10 in the morning.

Our take
If indeed Iranians are here it would not be surprising. It should also speak to the strength of our enemy if the best they can do is take snapshots of subways. We suppose they can’t get past their own censorship and take a gander at all the information widely available on Google Earth? Still, it is clear: Iran will not fight fair. Targeting civilian populations is part of their plan. Iran with the bomb is a nightmare that must be prevented.
