Intolerance as a Way of Life

Far too often we hear about all the injustices wrought upon Muslims by Americans. Most comes from the media and spans outright prejudices to sycophantic obsession for the rights of those that would blow us all up! Rarely, do we catch glimpses in the media about the how Islam is the most intolerant religion in the world, nearly devoid of compassion for others - yet Islam continually gets a free pass from the main stream media. Why is this?

Read on for a surprising summation of facts that are enough to get the blood boiling! Wait, we don’t want to give radical Islamists - masquerading as an inclusive religion - any more grim ideas. Below is summation of intolerance rising in the Islam world as reported by Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld in FrontPage Magazine on December 2006.

• Ehrenfeld reports that no churches or synagogues have been destroyed in Saudi Arabia since it was established in 1932 - because none are allowed!
• There is no declared Muslim state, which offers full civil rights to members of other religions,Ehrenfeld reports.
• She reports that all five schools of Islamic law agree that the penalty for conversion from Islam, something called "apostasy" is death.
• There is a long list of old and new examples of Islamic edicts preaching.
• Intolerance of others and calling for their destruction as well as the destruction of their holy sites.
• Ehrenfeld reports that even after the newly established Palestinian Authority committed to religious tolerance in the Oslo Accord, its own police forcefully took over Abraham's Oak Russian "Holy Trinity" Monastery in Hebron , on July 5, 1997, wounding several monks and nuns
• In September 1996, Palestinians destroyed the synagogue at Joseph's tomb in Shechem.
• In October 2000, the reconstructed synagogue and yeshiva at Joseph's Tomb was sacked and burned by mobs,and Rabbi Hillel Lieberman, who went there hoping to save Torah scrolls and other holy objects, was murdered. The next day his bullet-ridden body was found in a cave. Today, the Jewish holy site is buried under the new mosque that was built over the ruins of Joseph Tomb.
• The most flagrant proponent of this hate lately is Iran 's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who not only denies the Holocaust as a historical event, but uses every opportunity to reiterate that Israel "must be wiped off the map."

Our Take

Intolerance cannot be a part of our modern civilization except for when it comes to those that don’t have any themselves. We simply cannot tolerate the intolerable! It is not reconcilable with the value systems of the West. Our system of beliefs is based on commonality and a common sense appreciation for the principles of natural history. Intolerance, be it on the part of Islam, or any religion, cannot be acceptable. When the shortcomings of all prejudices are called out in the media – they need to include and underscore the intolerance of Islam.
