Hillary's Mother of All Tax Hikes

October 2007

Rangel equals Hillary

Conservative media maven Rush Limbaugh recently chided Congressman Charles Rangel and his Hillary Clinton Tax scheme, which would leave all of our wallets a lot lighter if it ever passed. Read on for a summary of key facts from Rush's recent radio show underscoring this lunacy called the Hilary tax scheme.

  • Charles Rangel an announced the mother of all tax hikes, the largest single tax increase in American history, which would bring an extra $1 trillion into the federal treasury.
  • This is actually Hillary's tax increase. Rangel is always the front man, the forward operator, on Hillary's plans.
  • To make this bitter pill go down a little easier, Rangel says his tax proposal gets rid of the widely-hatedalternative minimum tax, which is creaming people it was never intended to cream. It was supposedly originally intended to cream just the rich. Now it's screaming the middle class.
  • This large a tax increase would destroy the economy.
  • If Hillary captures the White House – or if any of the other Democrats get in – Rangel will stay as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. There will be nothing to stand between him and his proposal becoming law.
  • They're going to try to make you think it's a big middle-class tax cut by really, really soaking the rich.
  • But Rangel's surtax is on adjusted gross tax, not taxable income. Sounds technical, but it's not.
  • Rangel's bill will erode the value of many tax deductions, including middle-class mainstays like mortgage interest, charitable giving, and medical expenses. The surtax is on adjusted gross, not taxable, income. It comes off the top.

Our Take

We need to understand the impact of what a Hillary Clinton Presidency would be if she and her Congressional "Yes" man, Charlie Rangel, get their way: more taxes for all! Can we afford this? It's a most taxing issue – one that voters should have on their minds when they go to the polls next yeat. We say HELL NO to Hillary and her scheme to raise taxes. Can you afford to pay more next April? Even if you can, do you want to? Should you be forced to? Just to pay for social programs that you find objectionable and that won't work? If the answer is no, then you need to vote your interest come November 2008.
