HilLary plays the woman card

October 2007

gender gerrymandering at its worst

Hillary will be the first one to say she wants to win the 2008 Presidential election on merit alone – yet this is not her strategy. Her strategy is really to use her gender to sweep up female swing voters who might otherwise vote on the issues and elect someone else.

  • Hillary Clinton made an appearance on the lunatic-left talk show The View and she's now playing the Woman Card, according to Rush.
  • The "campaign Monday made its most overt bid yet to highlight her historic potential as the first possible US woman president."
  • The front-running Democrat kicked off a week of events highlighting her perceived appeal to women, as her campaign released a memo implying she could effectively exploit the 'pivotal' voting bloc in 2008."

Our Take

We have come a long way as a society, and if Mrs. Clinton wants to prove that, she should campaign on the merits of her qualifications and the content of her character – and not on the fact that she has ovaries. Unfortunately, campaigning on the merits of her qualifications and the content of her character is close to impossible, because she has terrible deficits in those two areas. As always, she plays both sides of the gender question, asserting on the one had that she's every bit as qualified to be President as any man, while simultaneously pandering to that voting bloc which, she thinks, will give her the power she craves simply because she's a woman whose turn – and time – has come. You can't have it both ways Mrs. Clinton. It's our hope that voters will see through such gender gerrymandering.
