2008 Election CoverUps Is Jeremiah Wright Planning an October Surprise?August 2008 Last spring, Senator obama chucked his Long-time pastor under the bus "Without batting an eye", to paraphrase the good pastor. Are Barack's Chickens coming home to roost? By Andrew Peterson Look out Barack! Writing in the U.K. Spectator, James Forsyth tells us that Jeremiah Wright, the spiritual mentor you thought you knew, is planning a fire-and-brimstone revenge come October. Wright has an "October surprise" in store for Obama, reports New York magazine, with the launch of a publicity tour for his new book. Highlighting the story in the UK's Spectator magazine, writer James Forsyth calls it a "huge problem for Obama," with the controversy over Wright's racial and anti-American sermons and his friendship with Obama "returning to the news agenda just as undecided voters begin to make up their minds." Alert readers may recall that in the not-distant-enough past, a fiery parting of the ways between Barack and Wright was headline news, after the highly-combustible pastor held forth for reporters at the National Press Club on all manner of political subjects. Wright said he would not stop criticizing the U.S. government if Obama becomes president, because the complaints are over policy, not the people. Ever since then, it has seemed highly unlikely that a man of Wright's temperament would let his most famous parishioner dump his church for the sake of political expedience and waltz into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue without a fight. In a January 2006 sermon, Wright called America the "No. 1 killer in the world" and blamed the country for launching the AIDS virus to maintain affluence at the expense of the Third World. Our Take CoverUps thinks that anyone as angry as Wright poses a serious threat to Obama's presidential ambitions. As election day draws nearer, the notion that Wright might think Obama should pay for his betrayal by losing the election doesn't strike us as too far-fetched to be true. Barack – watch your back! Jeremiah – keep your eyes on the prize! Link to article.
