OBAMA BLOGGER CALLS FOR TERRORIST TO GO FREE

The upside-down moral universe of Barack Obama is on full display in the pages of the MyObama community blog pages.

In a WorldNet Daily article by Aaron Klein, readers get a glimpse of the anti-semitic fever swamps that Obama so strongly attracts:

In a blog post on Obama's site titled, "We are all Palestinians," user Ulf Erlingsson lamented what he called the "harsh" conditions of Al-Arian's imprisonment – explaining he "lives in segregation … is not allowed any visitors and is given only two phone calls a month."

The posting quoted Agha Saeed, chair of the American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections, comparing Al-Arian to King and Malcolm X, who "symbolized the struggle for human rights in the fifties and sixties. Dr. Sami Al-Arian has come to symbolize the current struggle for human rights."

Is it any surprise that Obama, a member of the hard left, should attract people with views like these? Hardly.

Al-Arian's background doesn't look out of place next to the backgrounds of people like Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, unrepentant terrorists who are two of Obama's most ardent supporters.

Al-Arian, a former university professor, was arrested in 2003 on multiple charges of funding terrorists, including the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror organization, which took credit for every suicide bombing in Israel since 2005. In 2006, Al-Arian accepted a plea bargain resulting in a conviction with conspiracy to aid Islamic Jihad.

The Obama campaign shows at least some recognition that the public airing of the more noxious ideas of his supporters is, if not morally disgusting, at least politically dangerous.

One recently removed posting claims Jews control the media:

"Jewish owners and managers of CNN, FOX NEWS, mainstream media and the press determine which person, which facts, which version of the facts, and which ideas shall reach the public," read the blog.

Another post referred to Jews as "puppet masters" and "war criminals."

Yet another posting, titled "The Israeli connection to 9/11," claimed Israeli intelligence was involved in the mega-attack and planted "false flags" to blame Arab countries.

Other MyObama posts have warned of "Judeofacists and their Neocon comrades" who "already destroyed America ... The entire Congress should be overthrown by revolution for having sold America to the Israelis."

Our Take

There's an old saying in politics that says you dance with who you bring to the party. There is no disguising the fact that for all his lofty rhetoric about hope and change and universal brotherhood, a sizeable number of Barack Obama's supporters are positively brimming with hatred toward one of our closest and most valuable allies: Israel. That can't be said about John McCain. And it should give every would-be supporter of Obama pause to think twice before casting their vote.
