2008 Election CoverUps U.S. Communist Party Endorses ObamaAugust 2008 This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone By Andrew Peterson The more you know about Barack Obama the less surprising an endorsement of him by the U.S. Communist Party (CPUSA) is. We learn today from Redstate blog that the Communist Party of the United States endorsed Barack Obama for President. According to Redstate: It's one thing when Obama, the Democrats' standard bearer to be, is identified as the most liberal senator. It is something else, something quite extreme, when Obama is recognized as the darling of the Communist Party USA. How amusing it is that the candidate who went to Germany and praised the Berlin Airlift, calling it a great victory for the west over communism, is now being endorsed by the CPUSA, who write: If Obama’s candidacy represented nothing more than the spark for this profound initiative to unite the working class and defeat the pernicious influence of racism, it would be a transformative candidacy that would advance progressive politics for the long term. So has the CPUSA been duped? Are they acting against their own interests in endorsing Obama? We would say no. They know their man. The question is, do Democrat voters. All of this is of a piece with what we already know about Obama and his life: the politics of his parents and his wife; the politics of his mentors. His political affiliations in Chicago. His pastor. his connections with ACORN. His voting record in the U.S. Senate. All of these provide a clear, stark picture to anyone with eyes to see. Obama is most emphatically a man who, if elected, would take this country sharply to the left. Our Take Do we as a country wish to go politically left? Do we really want to have an even bigger, more intrusive, more empowered government than the one we have now? That’s what we’ll get if we elect Barack Obama. Of course this is what the CPUSA wants. We also know that the young and the college-educated want it. Consider the educational values transmitted by the public schools to our children: Secularism. Moral relativism. Collectivism. Multi-culturalism. The sins of capitalism – against minorities, against the poor, against the environment. These things are widely taught today. But none of them are traditional American values.
